When he learned how to control his powers and returned to Wallachia, he took control of a Hungarian army. This army would become known as the Wallachian Warhost and many of them were eventually given the Blood Kiss (once he returned from the Romani). After the initial victory, Vlad turned to maintaining control over Wallachia. With that in mind, he named the commander of the army as Governor and installed them in the fortress at Targoviste (the capital). Together they defeated many rivals and Vlad grew stronger from drinking their blood. During the assault on Wallachia by the Church, the Governor and a large part of the Warhost remained in the fortress as Vlad was cornered and butchered by the Church. After Vlad's death at the hands of the Church, the Governor ruled Wallachia and became a tyrant in all but name. After two centuries Vlad returned and chose not to take the throne of Wallachia, instead being pulled towards the Rent above Venice. He did not know who ruled Wallachia, nor did he care. It was beneath his ambition. Later he learned that his general was still alive and had been ruling ever since, Vlad became distrustful of the power and ambition that his general may have found since his absence. For their part, the Warhost had been training for two hundred years and as soon as they felt their connection to Vlad and realised that their master still lived, they made their way to Venice in force. Their appearance was a shock to Vlad, who immediately became cautious and wary of them should they turned out to be traitorous. The Governor regarded Vlad as a lost comrade, annoying Vlad in the process, though he feigned joy to see them again. They are now his armed forces, his military might in Venice with which to challenge the churches forces once again, though he always tries to keep them at arms length.\u0026quot;}\" data-sheets-userformat='{\"2\":5059,\"3\":{\"1\":0},\"4\":{\"1\":2,\"2\":16370588},\"9\":1,\"10\":1,\"11\":4,\"12\":0,\"15\":\"Arial\"}'\u003eThe Wallachian Warhost were originally the name given to Vlad's armies.
